Age/ID Verification
  • Players will be verified by club administrators.
  • Player verification is required prior to assigning players to rosters.
  • Player verification is only required for competitive and premier players. Recreational players do not need to be verified.
Background Checks
  • Coaches are required to register from the front end of each registration website of the club that they're coaching for.
  • All coaches need to agree to an authorization in order to have their background check run.
  • Coaches will have their background check run by Soccer Rhode Island.
  • Soccer Rhode Island is partnered with Reference Services to have their background checks run.
Team Activation
  • All coaches must have a cleared background check in order to be assigned to a team.
  • All players must be Age/ID verified after uploading their birth certificate or documentation required for proof of age.
  • Players are not allowed to play down, but players are able to play up.
  • Concussion and abuse training (SafeSport) must be completed by each coach in order for their team to be approved.
  • Player/coach cards can only be printed for approved teams.
  • All Superliga teams are approved by Superliga administrators. Tournament rosters will be approved by Soccer Rhode Island. Recreational teams are not required to be approved.
  • Players cannot be dual rostered between clubs. Players can be dual rostered within the same club.
Cards & State Rosters
  • Only travel and premier players need player cards printed.
  • Players must be Age/ID Verified before they're able to print their card.
  • Coaches have a clear background check and be SafeSport/Concussion compliant in order to have their cards printed.
  • Teams must be approved in order for cards to be printed for players and coaches on that team.
Soccer Rhode Island Engagement Details
  • Players
    • Players must register online.
    • Age/ID Documents and Photos must be uploaded in order for the player to be Age/ID Verified by the club administrator.
    • Player cards must be printed for Competitive and Premier players. In some cases, virtual passes may be accepted.
  • Coaches
    • Coaches must register online.
    • All coaches need to have a cleared background check and be Concussion/SafeSport compliant.
    • All Competitive and Premier coaches need to have cards printed. In some cases, virtual passes may be accepted.
  • Teams
    • Competitive and Premier teams must be approved.
    • Competitive and Premier teams must have a roster printed by a club admin.
